AME Foundation core programme over the years has been supported by The Royal Netherlands Embassy, New Delhi. Since 2004, AMEF has entered into a new partnership with FAO.

Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations, with the financial support of the Netherlands, has come forward to partner with AME Foundation (AMEF). Known as partnership for development agreements, FAO and AMEF enter into a “national execution” model for development project wherein the responsibility for project management rests with AMEF. The AMEF-FAO partnership project, “Promoting Livelihood Improvements in Dryland Farming on the Deccan Plateau”, became operational from November 2004.

The objectives of the AMEF-FAO programme on “Promoting Livelihood Improvements in Dryland Farming on the Deccan Plateau” include improving and promoting alternative farming practices to bolster food security, strengthen livelihoods, address environment issues and promote more sustainable agricultural practices. The programme advocates a participatory approach that recognises local knowledge systems and involves local farmers groups, NGOs and government departments in the decision-making process.
